M.O.M Event (Broadway Place Apartments)

M.O.M (Making Our Masks) Project

Our organization wanted to bridge the gap between social isolation by promoting
social distancing opportunities between the youth, and the senior citizen
population. Our goal was successfully met, to engage the senior citizen population
(who are at-risk for social isolation) with the opportunity to help instruct, and/or
learn from our youth on utilizing innovative techniques to create face masks. Our
successful partnerships included MARC Apartments (4733 Lee Rd Cleveland OH
44128), and Broadway Place Apartments (7050 Broadway Ave Cleveland OH 44105).
Both senior housing developments were a pleasure to work with, and insisted on
future projects. The outdoor events were beneficial to our targeted populations,
and provided new skills on creating face masks, while utilizing affordable items.
Many residents had tears of joy, on how thankful they were to experience a project
that allowed such connectivity, and companionship. These handmade face masks
were distributed throughout the participating housing developments, and the
remaining face masks were distributed locally in the highest rated COVID-19
affected communities, throughout Cleveland, OH.
