G.O.A.L.S UNLTD INC., would like to bridge the gap between social isolation by promoting social distancing opportunities between the youth, and the senior citizen population. Our goal is to engage the senior citizen population (who are at-risk for social isolation) with the opportunity to help instruct, and/or learn from our youth on utilizing innovative techniques to make face masks. In addition, a skilled face mask maker will be present to assist with the alteration process. These handmade face masks will be distributed throughout local senior citizen housing developments. Any remaining face masks will be distributed locally in the highest rated COVID-19 affected communities, throughout Cleveland, OH.
Due to the current pandemic of COVID-19, we as a nation are experiencing a state of crisis. Due to governing law(s), social distancing has become required in social settings. Social distancing has impacted many individuals by causing social isolation. The senior citizen population have limitations on social involvement, and with the current social distancing requirement(s), a need for developing a plan of action to promote interaction has become essential. Giving opportunities to our youth to help our senior citizen population will collectively build our community, combat social isolation, and provide quality mentorship.
Our goal is to network with local senior housing developments to arrange outdoor events for our face mask sessions. Our desired outcome from this successful project, would be the decreased rate of social isolation between the senior citizen population, and the increased community involvement among our youth. We will combat the social isolation crisis, while promoting and practicing health and wellness.
